Sixteen masters of the UPF Barcelona School of Management, classified in the EdUniversal 2022 ranking

Four of the ranked programs are among the Top 50 in the world in their areas of expertise, and two others are among the Top 100

 

The EdUniversal Best Masters Ranking 2022 includes 16 programs from the UPF Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM) this year, two more than in previous years. The masters that have entered the ranking for the first time are the Master of Arts in Communication Management and the Master in Health Economics and Pharmacoeconomics, which has been placed directly among the Top 50 in the Health Economics and Public Health category, within the Specialized Management area.

Of all the masters ranked, six are among the best in the world in their categories, of which four are in the Top 50 and two in the Top 100. These are the Master in Health Economics and Pharmacoeconomics taught in Spanish or in English, the Master in Sports Management and the Master in Publishing, in the Top 50, and the Master in Tax Consultancy and the Master in Finance and Banking, in the Top 100.

Six programs stand out globally

Of the eleven speciality areas evaluated, UPF-BSM programs are present in a total of six: Finance; Management and Development; International Management; Communication, Marketing and Digital; Law and Human Resources; and Specialized Management. The Master in Sports Management, directed by Oscar Elvira and Xavier Moya, is the best positioned and is ranked number 11 in the Sports Management category, within the Specialized Management area.

Among the programs ranked in the Top 50 in their area, the Master in Publishing, directed by Javier Aparicio Maydeu, ranked 32nd, while the Master in Health Economics and Pharmacoeconomics and the Online Master in Health Economics and Pharmacoeconomics, both directed by Jaume Puig-Junoy and Natàlia Pascual, ranked 43rd and 45th in the category of Health Economics and Health Economics and Public Health, respectively, also within the area of Specialized Management.

The ranking includes 16 UPF-BSM masters this year, two more than in previous editions

Regarding the two programs ranked in the Top 100 in their area, the Master in Tax Consultancy, directed by Antoni Durán-Sindreu, is in 35th position in the Taxation category, included in the area of Law and Human Resources. The Master in Finance and Banking, directed by Xavier Brun, Oscar Elvira and Xavier Freixas, is ranked 48th in the Financial Markets category, within the Finance area. 

Ten masters ranked in the Western Europe region

The other ten masters included this year are ranked regionally, in the Western Europe division. The MSc in Finance and Banking, directed by Albert Banal-Estañol, and the Master in Accounting and Financial Management, directed by Llorenç Bagur, have been ranked in the area of Finance and, specifically, in the categories of Corporate Finance, at number 45, and Accounting, at number 55, respectively. In the area of Management and Development, the Master in Public and Social Policies, directed by José M. Martínez-Sierra and Rodrigo Cetina, was awarded the 29th position in the category of Public Administration and Management, while the MSc in Management, directed by Javier Gómez Biscarri and Anna Torres, achieved 40th position in the category of General Management.

In the area of Law and Human Resources and, specifically, in the category of Human Resources Management, the ranking places the Master in Human Resources Management, directed by Mariano de las Heras and Mercè Martín, in 35th place. In the area of International Management, the MSc in International Business, directed by Mercè Roca, was awarded 45th place in the category of International Management, while the Executive MBA, directed by Susana Domingo, achieved 56th place in the Executive MBA category.

Finally, in the area of Communication, Marketing and Digital, there is the Master in Digital Marketing Management, directed by Carolina Luis Bassa, Josep Maria Fàbregas and Antonio Ladrón de Guevara, which appears at number 18 in the category of Online Business and Digital Marketing; the Master of Arts in Communication Management, directed by José Fernández Cavia and Carles Roca, ranked 26th in the Corporate Communication category; and the Master in Marketing, directed by Ladrón de Guevara and Luis-Bassa, ranked 34th in the Marketing category.

The EdUniversal methodology

The ranking, which analyses more than 5,600 masters and MBAs, is based on three main criteria for evaluating programs: their reputation, student satisfaction and the salary level of the students’ first job after graduation. The study includes business schools from 154 different countries, divided into nine geographical areas: Western Europe (where we compete); Eastern Europe; Eurasia and the Middle East; Central Asia; North America; Latin America; and Oceania.
