Curriculum

The Master in Project Management and Innovation is organized into four large modules that train you to respond to the new challenges in project management and culture of innovation in companies.

You must take all the compulsory subjects and choose four optional subjects, among those available in each of the modules.

In addition, with the aim of offering more practical learning, we organize visits to companies and conferences that bring you closer to the professional world linked to project management.

Block 1: Business Foundations

You will learn what innovation is and why it matters, the mindset and types of innovation (incremental and disruptive), strategies and context (innovation and competitiveness; local innovation systems, trends), and the drivers of digital transformation.

You will also study innovation in current business models and the new models that have emerged in recent years. In addition, you will address the Lean Launch Pad and Blue Ocean methods to create new, innovation-based, customer-centric business models.

In the management of any organization or project, accounting and finance are fundamental pillars. Both daily financial operations and long-term strategic planning, as well as the feasibility of future projects, largely depend on a solid understanding of these fields. In this regard, this series of materials will address five key topics: the fundamentals of accounting and finance, the analysis of financial statements, the foundations and analysis of cost management, budgeting and control, and project feasibility.

Block 2: Innovation and Technology

You will learn about open innovation and corporate venturing (theory and practical examples) to launch an innovation-driven growth strategy within the company. We will also cover intrapreneurship and how to initiate and develop an entrepreneurial initiative inside the organization. You will become familiar with types of events, forums, and competitions for startups, among others.

You will study how to integrate management perspectives that are often presented separately—strategy, growth, innovation, digital transformation, people management, communication, and brand—which are all fundamental to transformation processes.

Block 3: Project Management

Deepen your understanding of the five fundamental rules of Project Management, applicable to projects in any sector. We also present all the elements involved in turning an improvement idea into a concrete work plan that generates tangible results.

Understand tools and frameworks for efficient quality management in terms of cost and time. The content helps you grasp not only the advantages and uses of these tools and frameworks, but also their limitations and risks.

Learn how to carry out risk identification, analysis, response planning, and control for a project—with the aim of increasing the likelihood and impact of positive events and reducing the likelihood and impact of negative events.

Block 4: Innovation and Project Management Tools

Learn the most common techniques for designing and leading projects, as well as software tools that help you monitor the different phases of a project and control quality, costs, and timelines.

Gain an overview and hands-on techniques from this innovation and entrepreneurship system to design new products, services, and even new businesses that meet evolving customer needs. You will work on a real team project applying all the innovation tools included in the program.

Explore the values and principles that underpin agile methodologies such as SCRUM and QRM for project development and the organization of entrepreneurial processes. You will complete a real team project applying all the innovation tools included in the program.

Block 5: Organization and Culture of Change

Analyze, chronologically and in detail, all the processes a project must go through—from preparing the initial proposal to formal closure—covering all planning, execution, and coordination phases.

During this course you will explore various leadership styles, with an emphasis on situational and transformational leadership, through scientific theories, a case study, practical exercises (peer coaching), and group dynamics. Learn about power and influence, building trust, competence vs. confidence, and personal qualities that can help you improve your leadership skills.

Develop the skills needed to lead people and influence organizational direction. You will also improve your public-speaking skills by combining theory and practice, emphasizing effective structure, nonverbal communication, and building confidence through real-time feedback.

Block 6: Electives

Through customer journey analysis and mapping, you will ideate and prototype new physical or online solutions that enrich the customer experience—always aligned with business goals. You will complete a real team project applying all the innovation tools included in the program.

Learn this user-centred, experimentation-based methodology to bring your innovative business idea to market. Assess whether it is truly a viable entrepreneurial opportunity and validate it using tools and experiments such as prototypes, interviews, customer development, Business Model Canvas, market potential, and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs). You will complete a real team project applying all the innovation tools included in the program.

Prepare to pursue the world’s most recognized professional project management certification: the Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI).

This course addresses the growing importance of corporate sustainability in a world marked by environmental, social, and economic challenges.
