Almirall Chair for the Management of Innovations in Pharmaceutical Policies in the National Health System

The Almirall Chair for the Management of Innovations in Pharmaceutical Policies in the National Health System of the UPF Barcelona School of Management aims to generate systematized knowledge about the policy and management of pharmaceutical innovations in the National Health Service (SNS), in addition to transmitting reflections on the subject to the different interest groups.

Among planned activities, a day of debate on pharmaceutical policy management will be organized, called "Meeting of Experts in Health Management and Health Economics". This conference will be held online in the months of November and December 2021. Additionally, a study will be prepared on the economic impact of the pharmaceutical sector in Spain, which will be disseminated through the UPF-BSM Working Documents series, in order to contribute to the transfer of knowledge of the topics discussed. This study will include information on its contribution to GDP, employment, and tax revenue.

Objectives

  • Discuss the state of innovation management in the SNS.
  • Generate knowledge about possible avenues of advancement post-COVID-19, founded on evidence-based management in the health field and the health economy.
