Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC), a center of excellence in logistics and supply chain management promoted by the Government of Aragon and affiliated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of Zaragoza, has today signed a Framework Agreement for Academic Collaboration with the UPF Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM), the business school of Pompeu Fabra University.

The agreement establishes a global framework for collaboration in the joint development of international academic projects and activities, with a particular focus on advanced education, applied innovation, and knowledge transfer in logistics and supply chain management. Under this agreement, both institutions will be able to deploy joint educational initiatives and programs aimed at professionals, executives, and organizations through specific agreements.

The alliance includes, among other lines of action, the design and delivery of jointly developed programs, corporate training initiatives, partner programs under B2B2C models, as well as the participation of faculty members and experts from both institutions in teaching and academic activities. All of this strengthens the international dimension of ZLC’s and UPF-BSM’s educational offerings and their connection with the real needs of companies.

“This alliance lays the foundations for promoting academic initiatives and knowledge transfer between two institutions with a strong international vocation, fostering the creation of global, relevant training and research proposals with real positive impact,” said Fátima Piqué, Deputy General Director of the UPF Barcelona School of Management.

For her part, Isabel Nuez, Managing Director of Zaragoza Logistics Center, emphasized that “this agreement strengthens our international academic collaboration model and our commitment to generating real impact through excellence in education and applied research.”

Along the same lines, Rafael de Miguel, Academic Director of ZLC, highlighted that “this framework opens up new opportunities to develop joint programs of high academic value, aligned with the current challenges of global logistics.”

The signing of the agreement is part of ZLC’s strategy to strengthen partnerships with leading academic institutions at both national and international levels and consolidates Aragon’s role as a hub of knowledge and talent in logistics, supported by university–industry collaboration and a clear global outlook.

Zaragoza Logistics Center, a center affiliated with the University of Zaragoza and the European node of the MIT Global SCALE Network, thus continues to expand its academic collaboration ecosystem and reinforce its mission to educate global leaders and contribute to socioeconomic development through more innovative, sustainable, and resilient logistics.
