Fernando García Benavides holds a PhD from Universitat d'Alacant. He is the Academic Director of the Online Postgraduate in Public Health at UPF Barcelona School of Management.

Fernando is Professor of Public Health at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and Professor of Medicine, Human Biology and Labor Relations at this institution, and Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas School of Public Health. He has directed the Center d'Investigació en Salut Laboral (CISAL) at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where he currently works as a senior researcher, and has been the editor of the journal Archivos de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales (MEDLINE).
