
The UPF Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM) has redesigned its Executive MBA with a program tailored to the new demands and latest market trends. The new curriculum includes emerging technologies, people-centered leadership and the impact economy as cross-cutting themes, and introduces two specialization tracks: one in Medtech, to explore the latest advances in medical technology, and another in AI and Big Data for decision-making.
One of the main strengths of the EMBA is immersing participants in the real world through case-based learning, applied projects, executive mentoring and close collaboration with industry. One of the new features included in the program is the CEO Speakers Series, virtual sessions led by executives from around the world who will share real challenges and achievements in strategic decision-making.
A total of 10 executives with international profiles have joined the program to share their expertise with participants: Xavier Pont, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Ship2B Ventures; Willem Groenewald, Secretary General for Automobile Mobility and Sustainability at FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile); Myriam Bouzerma, Commercialisation Officer at the European Space Agency (ESA); Roser Roca Toha, Managing Director & CEO at Airbus GeoTech; Robert Fabregat, CEO of Biocat; David Cabero, Sales & Marketing International Strategy in FMCG & Retail at BIC; Carles Navarro, Managing Director at BASF Española; Maria Angeles Díaz, International Executive and President at Oxford Instruments; and Colin McElwee, Co-founder of Worldreader and Catalyst 2030.

The EMBA includes live webinars, discussion forums and weekly tutorials, and also features a series of residential sessions in Barcelona at the beginning and end of the program, complementing the academic training. In addition, there will be visits to leading companies to learn about dynamic business environments and gain key insights into innovation, leadership and operational excellence.
International Faculty
The Academic Director of the UPF-BSM Executive MBA, Katharine D’Amico, will be joined by a teaching team that combines academic excellence, doctoral degrees and extensive professional experience across multiple sectors. These include Ana Freire, Luz Parrondo, Marc Ferrer Hausmann and Marcos Eguiguren. The program will also feature an International Guest Faculty that includes distinguished profiles such as Richard Jolly, Associate Professor of Management & Organizations at Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management; Eleni Kitra, CEO and Board Member at Omnicom and Sony; Henry Afekuana, Digital Transformation Leader at Heineken; Nick Morgan, executive coach and lecturer at Harvard University; and Joshua Bernstein from the Wharton School, among others.

Medtech, AI and Big Data
EMBA students will have the option to take the Concentration Tracks, elective courses within a specialization area designed to deepen knowledge and expand professional opportunities.
The EMBA features two specialization routes: Medtech, to explore the latest advances in medical technology, sector innovations and management strategies that drive operational efficiency and improve patient outcomes; and AI and Big Data, harnessing the potential of these technologies to apply advanced analytics in strategic decision-making, optimize processes and stand out in today’s digital market.
