The UPF Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM) has placed five of its master’s programs in the QS Business Masters Ranking 2026, an international ranking dedicated to identifying the best business master’s degrees offered by business schools and universities worldwide.

The Master of Science (MSc) in Management, the Master of Science in Marketing, the Máster Universitario en Marketing, the Master of Science in Finance and Banking, and the Máster Universitario en Finanzas y Banca are the UPF-BSM programs included in this prestigious classification.

QS ranked the MSc in Management, which enters the list for the third consecutive year. The program is positioned at 80th out of 235 master’s programs worldwide. It stands out for its research leadership (with a research impact score of 83.5/100), as well as for the high level of diversity in its classrooms, particularly in terms of gender balance and international student representation.

The MSc in Marketing and the Máster Universitario en Marketing have also been ranked, appearing for the fourth year in a row. Both programs stand out in the areas of diversity and research leadership, where they score above average. These two programs are positioned in the 81–90 range among 164 marketing master’s programs worldwide.

Finally, QS ranked the MSc in Finance and Banking and the Máster Universitario en Finanzas y Banca, also for the fourth consecutive year. They are positioned in the 121–130 range out of 248 finance programs worldwide. The UPF-BSM programs also stand out in research leadership—particularly in research impact, with a score of 89.3/100—and in classroom diversity.

UPF-BSM’s General Director, José M. Martinez-Sierra, highlighted: “Being included in this ranking with some of the key programs in our portfolio is a success that stems from the global internationalization strategy we launched a few years ago, as well as from the quality and dedication of our faculty. This recognition motivates us to continue working on processes of continuous improvement that strengthen the school’s reputation, while remaining faithful to our commitment to making top-quality education accessible to a broader and more diverse student community.”

Internationalization Strategy
This process of continuous improvement is part of the school’s internationalization and transformation strategy, which began in 2021 with AMBA accreditation, followed by the achievement of EQUIS accreditation in 2022 and its reaccreditation in 2025—making UPF-BSM the first business school linked to a public university to achieve it. In addition, UPF-BSM entered the Financial Times Executive Education Custom Ranking 2025 this year for the third time.

Methodology of the QS Business Masters Ranking
The QS ranking, one of the most recognized international academic evaluations, assessed a total of 954 business master’s programs worldwide.

The methodology used to calculate the overall score assigned a 30% weight to employability, 20% to research leadership, 20% to value for money, 20% to alumni outcomes, and 10% to diversity.

The goal of this methodology is to highlight programs with strong industry connections, solid career outcomes, and high value for students.
