CaixaBank and Microsoft have recognised the 16 best students of STEM university degrees (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in Spain through the WONNOW Awards.
These awards, now in their eighth edition, celebrate female excellence in STEM fields, areas in which women are still proportionally underrepresented, with the aim of promoting gender equality.
One of the 16 award-winners in this edition is Laura Pedro-Botet Ezquerra, currently a student in the Master in Data Analytics for Business at UPF-BSM and a graduate in Engineering Physics from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
The students have been selected for their academic, professional, personal and social excellence. They will work for six months in key areas of innovation, technology and digital transformation within the CaixaBank Group, and will also gain access to a mentoring programme by Microsoft.
Since their creation in 2018, a total of 5,922 students from across Spain have submitted their applications to the WONNOW Awards. In this latest edition, participation has remained high, with 1,080 applicants from Spanish universities.
