The UPF Barcelona School of Management is pleased to invite you to the presentation of the study “The Professionalization of the Family Business”, prepared by UPF-BSM in collaboration with Comertia and The Skeye, within the framework of the activities of our new Family Business Observatory.

The event will take place on Wednesday, March 18, at 8:30 a.m., in the Versa Room at UPF-BSM (Balmes 132–134), and will feature the participation of the study’s authors, Oriol Amat and Jordi Tarragona, together with Francesc Julià, CEO of Kave Home; Ignasi Pietx, Managing Director of Artyplan and President of Comertia; Natàlia Segura, Partner at The Skeye; and José M. Martínez-Sierra, Director General of UPF-BSM.

This study reflects UPF-BSM’s commitment to contributing—through academic rigor and applied analysis—to a deeper understanding of the specific dynamics of family businesses, as well as the key challenges they face in an economic and social environment marked by constant transformation.

The report examines the extent to which family businesses have developed the structures needed to address the challenges of continuity, recognizing that the professionalization of governance and management is a critical factor in ensuring their long-term sustainability.
