El Maria Canals porta cua

The Maria Canals International Piano Competition, founded in 1954, is aimed at young performers from around the world aged between 17 and 29. One of the initiatives linked to the competition is “El Maria Canals porta cua”, which consists of placing grand pianos in various public spaces for anyone who wishes to play them.

For the past ten years, UPF has hosted these pianos on its premises, helping to break down the social, cultural, and mental barriers that separate much of the population from music.

This year, the 71st Maria Canals Barcelona International Music Competition will take place from March 15 to 25 at the Palau de la Música Catalana. Sixty contestants from 29 countries will compete, selected from the 240 applicants who entered the pre-selection round.

When and where will the grand piano be available?

In the entrance hall of UPF Barcelona School of Management, on Friday, March 6, from 11 am to 8 pm, without interruption. Free admission.
