José M. Martínez-Sierra, General Director of the UPF Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM), and Ricardo Morales, Public Defender of Ecuador, signed today a cooperation agreement between the business school and the Public Defender’s Office of Ecuador.
This agreement will strengthen cooperation and educational exchange between the two institutions through the creation of training programs aimed at both the Public Defender’s Office and the School of Judicial Function of Ecuador. In addition, the agreement includes the launch of a project to develop an ethical code for the use of artificial intelligence in the judicial system, as well as another project aimed at protecting the rights of people deprived of liberty.
Prior to the signing of the agreement, the Public Defender of Ecuador took part in a panel discussion held in the Koiné Room at UPF-BSM before students of the Master’s Degree in Public and Social Policies. The panel, titled “Open Government and Open Justice,” featured professors Josep Solà and Javier Wilhelm, and was moderated by Marco Tello, a student of the Master’s Degree in Public and Social Policies at UPF-BSM.
