Ana Freire es Vicedecana de Impacto Social e Innovación Académica en la UPF Barcelona School of Management.

Anteriormente, era investigadora y profesora en la Escuela de Ingeniería de la Universidad Pompeu Fabra (UPF). También ha trabajado alrededor del mundo en instituciones prestigiosas como Yahoo Labs, la Universidad de Glasgow, y el centro de investigación nacional de Italia. Ana investiga sobre el impacto económico y social de la ciencia de datos y la inteligencia artificial, ha contribuido con más de 50 publicaciones científicas y varias patentes, y acumula numerosos reconocimientos nacionales e internacionales.
