Seminar in Modelling in Economic Evaluation of Pharmaceuticals and Health Programmes (blended learning)
Face-to-face sessions: from the 19th to 23rd of November 2019.
Combining online and on-campus classes (blended learning), the Seminar in Modelling in Economic Evaluation of Pharmaceuticals and Health Technologies at UPF Barcelona School of Management (in Spanish) will equip you with the practical skills and abilities needed to find solutions to any problems of economic evaluation in healthcare. The seminar will provide a practical exploration of concepts of decision analysis and modelling techniques for economic evaluation. The seminar will also address decision analysis models and Markov models which compare various courses of action, health programs, health interventions or complementary treatments.
The Seminar in Modelling Techniques in Economic Evaluation of Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare Technologies (blended learning) is made up of classroom-based and remote learning components. The classroom component is based on theory lectures and real-life practical case studies published in scientific journals and is held at UPF Barcelona School of Management over a four-day period. The distance learning activity consists of carrying out an individual practical assignment before and afterwards, as well as another group assignment based on the knowledge acquired in the face-to-face sessions.
The Seminar in Modelling Techniques in Economic Evaluation of Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare Technologies (blended learning) is aimed at healthcare professionals in the private and public sectors who want to advance their careers in healthcare economics, economic assessment or market access. It has an academic staff made up of renowned lecturers from the Departments of Economics and Business and Health Sciences at Pompeu Fabra University.
The seminar's objective is to provide participants with the instruments and basic criteria to guide decision-making about the need to apply the various modelling techniques within the framework of economic assessment studies on medications and medical technologies.
After the seminar, participants are expected to know, apply and interpret the main types of modelling techniques (Markov models and probability models) in the economic assessment of medications, medical technologies and health programs.
Who is it for?
The seminar is aimed at all healthcare professionals in the private and public sectors and professionals linked to the healthcare sector who want to advance their careers in healthcare economics, economic assessment, market access, etc.
