The Business Strategy and Environment Program provides a holistic view of the evolution of the economy and society relevant to companies. A necessary perspective to enable redesigning strategies in disruptive and sustainable environments in the long term.

The course is specifically designed for CEOs and division directors. It brings together Pompeu Fabra University’s world-renowned interdisciplinary research capabilities to transfer knowledge to companies and managers. It is focused on understanding the environment, strategic design and business vision.

Who is it for?

The Business Strategy and Environment program is aimed at managing directors, division directors or functional area directors looking to enter Senior Management or management of a business unit, who have a minimum work experience of 15 years and who wish to improve their understanding of today’s world, as well to improve their skills as strategic visionaries and drivers of change.

Methodology

Two subjects will be covered in each face-to-face session: one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

At the end of each subject, the lecturer will provide material to complete the session.

This material will be worked on after 15 days, during a half-day online.

STRUCTURE OF THE CLASSROOM DAY

10 am - 11:30 am – Introduction by the lecturer to topic 1.
12 pm - 12:45 pm – Workshop in which participants apply the work to a company.
12:45 pm - 1:30 pm – Workshop conclusions and presentation of a case applied to an organization.

LUNCH and POST-LUNCH TALK: guest who will address the problem from a different and relatable scientific perspective.
3 pm - 4:30 pm – Introduction by the lecturer to topic 2.
5 pm - 5:45 pm – Workshop in which participants apply the work to a company.
5:45 pm - 6:30 pm – Workshop conclusions and presentation of a case applied to an organization.

9:30 am - 10 am – Introduction by the lecturer to topic 1.
10:15 am - 11:30 am – Moderated discussion of the cases/reading material worked on by the students.

Collaborative learning and expert guests

The profiles of the students and the guests enrich the learning experience through a shared and interdisciplinary perspective. An integrative learning approach is used in the classroom, in which active participation is promoted in the form of dialogue and exchange of ideas.

Evaluation

Throughout the program, the Academic Management team will monitor the student to offer support and help them progress adequately.

Tools

The combination of online learning and face-to-face sessions favours the balance between theory and practice in a flexible learning process. The various multimedia resources that are made available to the student allow them to acquire knowledge in a self-regulated manner and the face-to-face sessions seek to put them into practice with active methodologies.
